Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese word representing the universal energy. It addresses mind, body and spirit, seeking to create a balance within the patient and encourage the body to heal itself.

Reiki is a hands on, light touch treatment in which universal energy is channelled through the practitioner to the major organs of the patient’s body. A treatment may be tailored to include or avoid specific predetermined areas. The patient is fully clothed and usually laid on a treatment table although a Reiki treatment can be easily adapted to a patient sitting in a chair. Reiki works through bandages and casts.

Reiki can also be sent over distance, most successfully at a prearranged time when the patient can be relaxed and still.

The patient’s willingness to undertake the treatment and acceptance of the energy is all that is required of them.
