Hatha Yoga

I have extensive knowledge of hatha yoga, having taught it for the past fifteen years.

The Body

Yoga postures are performed within an individual’s physical limitations. They should be comfortable.

The Breath

The breath is used to enhance postures by encouraging the body to stretch and relax. The breath is also used to energise and/or relax the body.

The Mind

The Mind is used to control the breath and the body; encouraging the two to work together. Postures are often performed to the rhythm of the breath which requires mindful concentration.

Yoga Classes

Yoga classes are held at St James Community Hall , Flacon Road East Cowes on Monday evening between 7.30pm and 9pm and Thursday morning between 10am and 11.30am (with an option to stay for tea and a chat until 12.00).

Both classes are lively and long established.  Monday evening classes tend to attract women in their 30s and 40s whilst Thursday morning classes consist of more mature ladies.

Both cover a wide range of abilities and beginners are always very welcome, as are those with some prior experience. Please contact me if you are interested in joining a yoga class.

 

Workshops

I am available for workshops which will be tailored to clients’ specific goals, for example an introduction to Yoga for beginners or relaxation and visualisation.

The next scheduled workshop is on 27 January 2007, which will be an Absolutate Beginners Yoga Day; more details on this Absolute Beginners Yoga Day can be found here.
